One standard, applied without exception.
Northridge started in 2009 with a sewing machine in a Boulder garage and one rule: nothing ships until it has spent a full season above the treeline. That rule has not changed.
Prototype, carry, break, rebuild.
Four designers, one prototype room and a guide team of eleven. Every product goes through at least two seasons of real use before it is sold, and comes back to the same room when it fails.
We make twelve products because twelve is what we can support properly. Spare parts are held for a decade, repairs are free for life, and a discontinued model still gets a new hip belt in 2036.
Seventeen seasons
The garage
Two guides, one industrial machine, forty packs sewn for friends in the Front Range.
40First shelter
The Bivy 1 enters production after three winters of testing in the Bugaboos.
1Repair programme
Free lifetime repairs begin. Two machinists are hired to run the bench full time.
2Europe
A second warehouse opens in Innsbruck so EU orders arrive duty-paid in days, not weeks.
14Twelve products
Seventeen seasons in, the range is four products larger than it was in 2014 — on purpose.
12What we will not do
No seasonal churn
No colourways designed to make last year's model look old. A pack bought in 2019 is still the current pack.
No unaudited suppliers
Three factories, visited twice a year, with published audit summaries on request.
No disposal by design
Every component is replaceable. We would rather sell you a $18 pole section than a $700 tent.
The workshop door is open on Fridays.
